New Deal for Disabled People
Futura our New Deal scheme is a free and voluntary recruitment service for people on a health or disability related benefit who want to work. It is delivered at no cost to individuals or employers, as part of the New Deal for Disabled People programme.
It provides an independent job broking service to help you develop work skills, identify opportunities and secure employment. It allows you to identify and match personal potential to current employment requirements within this area.
We work closely with individuals and employers to ensure a perfect job match and our experienced employment advisors provide ongoing support whenever its needed.

Workstep
Our Workstep team supports over 90 people who are employed with over 30 different companies throughout the scheme, providing ongoing support for employees and employers to ensure success in sustaining permanent employment.
For the employer it can offer practical and financial assistance. Advice and guidance on equipment and accessibility is also available.
It allows the individual to work in open employment and develop their potential to the extent that support would no longer be required.

Work Preparation
Our Work Preparation programme gives clients the opportunity to try different types of employment to find a job suitable to match their skills and abilities.
Clients may be referred by Jobcentre Plus and we would look for a suitable six to thirteen week work placement which includes a short course covering job search techniques, interview skills and CV writing.

Westcombe Employment Service provides practical help and training in finding a job including:

Writing applications
Interview techniques
Identifying suitable vacancies
Health & Safety
Vocational assessment

Workstep Retention
This is aimed at the individual already in employment who due to illness or accident is no longer able to carry out the standard of work required of them.
You as an individual may still have a lot to offer your present employer and with a little help remain a valued member of staff.
